Electrical Service Technician

Hawkeye Electric is Currently Seeking Experienced Electrical Service Technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical field service technicians travel to different locations to respond to service requests, typically evaluating and troubleshooting malfunctioning electrical equipment or executing changes, upgrades, and maintenance within existing operational facilities.

The electrical service technician is responsible for installing high-quality electrical work and taking measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency. In addition, the service technician is responsible for the installation and coordination of all types of service projects. The service technician will perform electrical installations by him/herself, but as required for some specific projects, he/she is responsible for managing and working with other journeyman and apprentice electricians. He/she takes on a leadership role to provide direction and technical guidance to the crew, while maintaining customer service for the project. The service technician plans and coordinates work, and ensures that the materials, tools, equipment and job information are on the jobsite or in the service van, ahead of time. The position reports directly to the Service Department Manager.

QUALITY WORKMANSHIP

1. Install Quality Electrical Workmanship. Work as a Hawkeye team member as directed by Service Department Management. Assist others where needed and follow a neat and process-oriented work style. Be efficient with your time and materials while ensuring top quality electrical installation to meet the NEC and Owner requirements.

2. Embrace Hawkeye’s common mission: provide high quality electrical workmanship while making the client happy. For Hawkeye’s Service Department, no task is too small or too large. Pay attention to the smallest detail and handle every client request with professionalism.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

1. The service technician will be required to operate a company vehicle, and will be responsible for operating it in an appropriate manner. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (as determined by the insurance provider or Hawkeye management) is a requirement of the position. In addition to any requirements set forth by Hawkeye, the service technician will have knowledge of, and abide by all safety and traffic laws in the State of Arizona.

2. Service Technicians are to supply and carry their own small tools during all Hawkeye work hours. Any large tools are provided by Hawkeye and checked out to each Service Technician. Misuse or abuse of equipment is not allowed. Required tools include:

Channel Locks (2), Cordless Drill, Crescent Wrench, Diagonal Cutters, Hack Saw/ Sawzall, Linemen’s, Needle Nose Pliers, Nut Driver Set 3/16" - 1/2" and 6mm-12mm, Screwdriver Set Philips & Flat Head #1-#3, Tape Measure minimum 16’, Tool Pouches with Belt, Wire Strippers, Multi-Meter, Flashlight, Socket Set, Keyhole Saw, Utility Knife, Plug Tester with GFCI, File (flat or round), Torpedo Level (9” level), Boots, Tap kit, Hammer.

GENERAL

1. Professionally represent Hawkeye. Wear appropriate PPE at all times. Wear clean, presentable clothing/uniform at all times.

2. Identify Solutions for Improvement in the Organization: If you see an area of potential improvement in terms of efficiency and effectiveness, speak up and review the proposed solution with Service Department Management.

3. Training/Mentoring. Continually pursue and attend opportunities for career/training development via IEC programs and other college/vendor programs. Take personal responsibility for furthering and improving your skill level via continuing education.

4. Recruiting. Continually seek and refer potential employees to the Hawkeye Management Team: potential employees you feel would fit in well as a member of “Team Hawk”.
