Hair Stylist

Seeking driven, reliable, cosmetology graduates to join our team as Assistants to the owners of our high-end salon. We are looking for assistants in both of our locations in Clawson, MI and Birmingham, MI.

**MUST be licensed!!**

Our assistant program is unlike any other salon. We offer an expedited program where you can expand your knowledge and creativity of the industry in classes and working alongside talented stylists. Compensation is daily + tips! Must be committed to long hours. We are looking for a long-term business relationship only, and plan on investing our future with you. Education classes in the salon and off-site are frequent. You will be trained by the industry's best - the work may be demanding, but the experience is invaluable!

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and identify their preferences by asking pointed questions. Helping out stylist by getting guest caped up and ready for the service being preformed
• Help in recommendations of hairstyles and haircuts according to customers’ face shapes and tastes
• Wash, rinse, Tone. All will be taught daily
• Help in applying a wide range of hair coloring techniques, like highlights, ombre and balayage
• Help to create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails and buns
• Apply hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. color protection creams and hydrating masks)
• Ensure tidiness of beauty stations and sterilize tools, as needed
• Cross-sell hair care products or services, when appropriate

Skills

• The ability to retain and preform skill that are taught on a daily and weekly basis
• Excellent communication skills
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours
• Flexibility to work in shifts
• Valid license from a cosmetology school
