Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Start DCF 45hr Childcare Training Course within 90 days of employment and complete within one year. Complete any other required course by DCF.
3. Prefer to have one of the following (but not required): Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.
4. Evidence of knowledge of preschool curriculum and the ability to implement it.
5. Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration.
6. Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.
7. Must pass DCF background check.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist with writing lesson plans that meet the goals as set forth by the Director in pacing guides.
2. Develop and maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.
3. Provide support and assistance to students throughout the school day.
4. Assist in selecting appropriate toys, books, and materials for classroom/age group.
5. Assist in executing lesson plans in a way that instruction can be accomplished within allotted time.
6. Provide individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.
7. Assist in evaluating each student; communicate with parents and Administration on individual student’s progress.
8. Take part in team meetings, be an active participant in all meetings.
9. Follow Policies and Procedures as set forth by Administration.
10. Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
11. Participate in all school meetings, trainings, and orientations.
12. Complete all in-service hours on time.
13. Turn in all required paperwork on time.
14. Assist in maintaining parent board and bulletin boards.
15. Change diapers or assist children in bathroom as needed.
16. Maintain appropriate records for students.
17. Assist in establishing and maintaining standards for acceptable student behavior using appropriate techniques.
18. Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills; share expertise with others.
19. Follow direction of others.
20. All other duties as assigned.
