Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing strong project leadership and deliverable management for approved construction initiatives. To deliver cross-functional projects critical to business and operational success by proactively managing project timelines, budgets, and interdependencies with other projects. Act as a thought leader and steward of the project charter, collaborating with the business owner to clarify objectives, scope and expectations

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Ultimately responsible for the project, from beginning throughout closeout. 
  • Contributes to project pre-plans by assisting in the establishment of objectives, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Initiates and maintains liaison with prime client and vendor contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitors and controls the project through administrative coordination with the Site Operations Manager to ensure the project is built in compliance with contract, on schedule and within budget; thoroughly investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures.
  • Reviews proposal specifications and drawings, attends pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as or directed by the President, Vice President, or Construction or Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager.
  • Handles change orders, subcontract agreements, owner invoicing and accounts receivable, project close-out, all project documentation, and risk management.
  • This position includes all responsibilities of the project manager and then also, it monitors the project managers and their projects while still also managing their own projects.
  • Manages project managers, assistant project managers, project engineers, project coordinators, and site managers that are assigned to their project teams.
  • Assists in business development, as required.



Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Four-year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years experience managing Large Scale New Construction/Ground-up Multifamily, Government/School experience is required.
  • Knowledge of construction design, finance and management is required.
  • Must be able to apply innovative management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is important.
  • Must be tech and computer savvy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
