Medical Scribe with Certified Medical Assistant Experience

On the Lookout for a bi-lingual MedicalScribe with Certified Medical Assistant experience in Urgent Care to join the team at Keen Medical Group.

Job Description

Keen Medical Group is currently seeking an all star experienced bi-lingual Medical Scribe with Certified Medical Assistant experienced in Urgent Care to become a team member working alongside our providers and assisting with general Primary Care and Urgent Care services.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately document patient-provider encounters in an electronic health record (EHR), including any past medical history, current medical issues, physical exams, treatment plans, disposition instructions, rechecks, etc.
  • Provide advanced support to providers, including documenting phone calls, alerting the physician with labs/radiology reports are complete, grabbing faxes, etc.
  • Assist with the disposition of patients from the facility.
  • Triage patients as needed.
  • 60 WPM + Background in medical terminology strongly preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Requirements: 2+ years in prior medical office experience; Knowledge of EMR; 1+ years Scribe experience. Proficiency with electronic medical record. Education Requirements: 2 year degree or equivalent preferred and MA certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepping Rooms, Rooming patients, Recording details of chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications and allergies.
  • Record details of physical exam, including pertinent positives and negatives, noted abnormalities and patient general condition.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be requested by specific provider.
  • Assist in delivery of injections.
  • Rooming and discharging patients.
  • Updating EMR
  • Filing medical records in charts.
  • Post visit documentation.

Competencies

To perform the job of Medical Scribe - CMA efficiently, the selected individual must possess the following competencies.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations.
  • Recognition of physical the exam process and the ability to record exam details.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple team members in the Healthcare Group.
  • Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow in the clinic.
  • Individual must possess a professional dispossession and be able to recognize and respect the privacy considerations for all patients and family members.
  • Ability to thrive in the sometimes high-pressure clinical work environment.
  • Must be dependable and report to work as scheduled.
  • Applicant must be reliable, trustworthy, punctual, organized, computer literate and able to multitask while problem solving.
  • Accompany physician into the patient examination room to transcribe history and accurately document the physician's encounter with the patient.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions, prescriptions ordered by the physician and any other vital information.
  • Exceptional typing skills.
  • Exceptional Critical Thinking Skills.

Education

  • Education/Training in the Sciences and Healthcare is preferred (aspirations for advancing in healthcare field is desired). Anatomy, physiology, medical terminology courses are highly desired in individuals selected for this position.
  • Data entry skills must be virtually error free; skills in self-proofing are essential.
  • Experience with EHR is Preferred.
