About this job

As a member of the Emergency Department team you will care for patients and families in an acute setting utilizing advanced assessment and physical examination skills to provide high quality patient care services.   

This position is open to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners who are interested in providing care in an Emergency Department setting, licensed and able to treat patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics.  This is a 1.0 FTE position with varying shifts, days/hours, and locations.  This position will have shifts scheduled into the weekend and holiday rotations. 

REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for this position you must meet the following requirements -

  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and hold or be eligible for Minnesota licensure. New grads will be considered.

We would prefer that our candidate have relevant work experience in one of the following areas -

  • Emergency Department
  • Urgent Care
  • Family Medicine
  • Walk-In Clinic

In addition, all applicants must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number prior to receiving clinical privileges.  Additional certifications needed are ACLS, ATLS or CALS. 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated skills in organizational management, leadership, communication and clinical expertise
  • Maintain CME requirements to maintain certification
  • Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor
  • Successful completion of third-party payor credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services

JOB SUMMARY

The APP provides direct, high quality patient care services requiring extensive skills and competency. The APP makes independent and collaborative health care decisions. The APP practices within the scope of practice as defined by certification/licensure standards and state and federal regulations.  The Advanced Practice provider follows established protocols and collaborates with physicians, however, does have day-to-day independence in health care decisions.
