The Department of Neurology at Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a physician leader to serve as
the Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.

The Department of Neurology and SOM leadership have sought innovative approaches to position VCU
as a recognized leader in the neurosciences. The new Director will have the opportunity to work closely
with leadership to achieve this shared goal. The position is open rank and track eligible.

Applicants should possess an MD/DO, completed residency training at an accredited institution, and be
board certified in Neurology. Completion of a Neurocritical Care fellowship and UCNS certification are
required. An interest in education is essential, and participation in teaching programs for medical
students, neurology residents and fellows is expected. A history of scientific achievement and scholarly
productivity is preferred. Rank is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Ability to work in a
team environment is essential. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty,
staff, and student environment or commitment to do so is also required.
