The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) is seeking a full-time, BC/BE pediatric gastroenterologist to serve as the Director of Pediatric Hepatology. Applicants should have experience in both pediatric
hepatology and transplantation. The successful candidate will be an affiliate in the VCU School of Medicine and work closely with the department of surgery and assist in the development of a multidisciplinary pediatric transplantation core team at CHoR.
The faculty shares a common commitment to providing exceptional clinical care to children as well as providing a quality education to trainees. There are
opportunities for teaching and supervision of medical and graduate students and pediatric residents. Research and other scholarly activity will be encouraged, and opportunities exist for collaborative research with established researchers. In particular, the Division of Adult Hepatology has had a longstanding and extensive clinical and basic science research program. Numerous campus resources are available to support basic, clinical and translational research, including a NIH funded CTSA and the VCU Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR).
Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
