Job DescriptionCompany Description
his position reports to the Clinic Manager. Duties include a wide variety of clerical tasks related to a medical clinic and which require the use of judgment and initiative. Knowledge of the organization, programs, and practices and procedures of the department are critical to the performance of duties. Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interfaces daily with patients and health center staff.
- Has sound of knowledge of SFCHC policy and procedures, especially for front desk operationsGreets patients courteously and with respect.
- Answers incoming lines and confirms appointments.
- Schedules doctors and other providers' appointments.
- Fills openings in providers' schedules as soon as openings arise.
- Enters new patient data/demographics into the computer using eCW electronic health record system.
- Scans documents to eCW, electronic health record.
- Presents, collects, and enters fees/transactions and processes payments.
- Generates receipts/visit summaries.
- Collects and enters insurance information.
- Makes collection calls and oversees insurance follow up by patients.
- Be comfortable and quick with insurance portals and be familiar with how HMOs work.
- Reconciles Day Sheet/balances for the day.
- Prepares daily deposit (to be cross-checked by Office Administrator for verification).
- Acts as liaison between physician and pharmacy.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education/Experience Requirement: High School Diploma or GED. One year of medical clinic clerical office experience & keyboarding using a computer. Typing 35 WPM.
- Required License/Certificates: BLS Certificate.
- Language Skills: Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a must.'
