Quality Manager

Summary


The Quality Manager will be responsible for assuring the quality of processes and procedures to assure compliance with contracts, project specifications and Ames standards in the work that we build.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate and implement the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Oversee project specific quality plans, procedures, and audit the quality of work performed.
  • Manage identification and execution of corrective actions; in response to product and process non-conformances.
  • Identify potential quality risks to schedule, cost and all construction activities.
  • Assist in auditing field document control system, specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and as-built drawings.
  • Maintain project quality records for the construction phase of the project and quality audit plans, performance and management thereof.
  • Proficient with project specifications, code, standards, best practices and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Coordinate third-party QA/QC testing and inspection personnel.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with ongoing communication.

Experience, Education & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field is preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Engineer License is preferred.
  • Knowledge of State DOT and/or USACE specifications.
  • Ability to lead, influence and motivate others across the organization.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with expert attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.


Working Conditions

  • Travel - This project is located in Midwest. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.
  • Construction site environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
