Job Description

Job Description
Camp Bow Wow is urgently hiring to fill out our talented team.

Happy Healthy Pets…Happy Healthy People! Whether you are working part-time or full-time, job satisfaction comes down to doing what you love and collaborating with caring people working toward a common mission. Camp Bow Wow® is a nationally recognized premier pet care service providing a fun, safe and upscale environment for dogs of all sizes to play, romp and receive lots of love and attention.

Camp Bow Wow Albany seeks exceptional people to provide loving care for dogs and a superior customer service for our pet parents. We are currently interviewing for a full-time or part-time position. Our full-time employees are expected to work 34-40 hours each week and be available for weekend work and holidays. Our part-time employees are expected to work between 20-24 hours a week and be available for weekend work and holidays.

Shouldn’t every job be demanding and offer a sense of accomplishment? The primary role of a Camp Counselor is to provide safety while supervising playgroups, both inside of the facility and in the outdoor play yards, of up to 25 energetic dogs, weighing 10 to 150 pounds, in an open play environment. Counselors must be attentive, focused, and quick to evaluate dog behavior in order to prevent altercations from occurring in the group. Counselors must also be ready to separate any altercations should they occur. Although we always strive to maintain safety, Camp Counselors must also understand that dogs can be unpredictable and at times they may jump on and/or knock over the Camp Counselor. Camp Counselors don’t play with dogs…they provide a safe and clean environment for dogs to play with dogs.

The Camp Counselor position is physically demanding and full of daily challenges and victories. In addition to providing safe play environments, Camp Counselors are also responsible for feeding, administering medications, cleaning play yards & cabins, and giving baths, all while giving the pups the love and attention they deserve.

Everyone working at the Camp is expected to contribute towards providing a superior customer service experience. If you find yourself saying, “I love dogs more than people”, than this may be a fit for you.
