Job Description
Position Summary
This position will require assisting the Head Baker in preparing and baking Westborn Market’s in house baked goods. The Assistant Baker will be expected to follow recipes for large production baking which includes but is not limited to granola, cookie doughs, cupcake batter, brownies, and bars. This is an evening position, scheduled approximately 1p-8p on days worked, and is required to work one weekend day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Prepares bakery items per written recipe and quantity needed as directed by Head Baker
· Packages and prices product as needed
· Examines and uses dated labels, stores incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately
· Stocks and rotates bakery supplies as directed
· Operates kitchen equipment such as proof boxes, oven, mixers, etc.
· Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
· Keeps a positive and helpful attitude during length of shift
· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Baking experience preferred but not required
· Ability to work independently with little supervision for part or whole shift
· Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
and find fresh, unique and innovative products that are always displayed in a creative and
