Pipe Crew Top ManThe Pipe Crew Top Man

The pipe crew's top man will be responsible for


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instill Safety as a top priority.
  • Working with pipe crews installing sanitary, storm, and water utilities.
  • Measuring and cutting pipe sections.
  • Communicate with the pipe layer to obtain grade shots using a transit.
  • Quantity tracking.
  • Communicate with loader and backhoe operators.
  • Stage materials and rigging pipe to be installed.
  • Operating a jumping jack or remote-controlled compactor.
  • Pothole underground utilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in OSHA standards for excavations.
  • Understand slopes, cuts, and different soil types.
  • Experience using chop saws and other misc. tools.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Time Management and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

  • Travel - This project is located in Kansas. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.*
  • Schedule - Work assignments will be weekdays from 7:00 am through 3:00 pm, with the occasional need to work overtime.
  • Construction Site Environment - the physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.
