Pipe Crew Top ManThe Pipe Crew Top Man
The pipe crew's top man will be responsible for
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Instill Safety as a top priority.
- Working with pipe crews installing sanitary, storm, and water utilities.
- Measuring and cutting pipe sections.
- Communicate with the pipe layer to obtain grade shots using a transit.
- Quantity tracking.
- Communicate with loader and backhoe operators.
- Stage materials and rigging pipe to be installed.
- Operating a jumping jack or remote-controlled compactor.
- Pothole underground utilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards for excavations.
- Understand slopes, cuts, and different soil types.
- Experience using chop saws and other misc. tools.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Time Management and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
- Travel - This project is located in Kansas. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.*
- Schedule - Work assignments will be weekdays from 7:00 am through 3:00 pm, with the occasional need to work overtime.
- Construction Site Environment - the physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.
