The Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is recruiting tenure-track faculty at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, specializing in Cancer Epidemiology.

 

Opportunity Highlights · Substantial collaboration and research with both clinical and research faculty at the Wilmot Cancer Center.

· Wilmot Cancer Institute is the largest cancer care provider in the region, serving approximately 3 million people in a 27-county region in western and central New York.

· Wilmot is the hub for over $30 million/year in cancer-related research and training funding, and is home to one of only two NCI Community Oncology Research Program research bases at an academic medical center.

· Wilmot features an 87-bed flagship cancer center, 13 outpatient locations, and one of the state’s largest blood and marrow transplant programs. Wilmot is home to the region’s first cancer survivorship clinic, and one of the nation’s first geriatric oncology clinics.

· Ample opportunities in research, educational, and community-based programs, through PHS, the Aging Institute, Environmental Health Sciences Center, the Del Monte Neuroscience Institute, the Center for Community Health & Prevention and others.

· Attract and maintain extramural research support, demonstrate excellence in teaching, mentoring and expand research partnerships within the university and community.

 

Qualifications

· Doctoral degree in Epidemiology (PhD, ScD, MD or equivalent) or in a closely related field with a strong emphasis on research design and statistical methods, specifically within the area of cancer epidemiology.

· A minimum of two years of postdoctoral research experience, an established record of peer-reviewed publications, and a demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding.

· Experience or research in lung, pancreatic, breast, and colon cancer screening, as well as hepatocellular cancer and lymphoma, and those studying health disparities in cancer care and outcomes preferred.
