Wage:

$21.00 - $23.00/hr

Sign-on Bonus:

$1,500.00

Scheduled Work Hours:

Mon - Thurs, 8:00 am - 1:30 pm; Work remotely 1 day a week

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Bilingual PREPARES Area Coordinator will be responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing support of a diocesan-based network consisting of Catholic parishes, volunteers, social service network partners, supporting pregnant and parenting women, families and their children.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach efforts with Catholic parish leadership, parishioners, and community organizations to develop active participation in the PREPARES Program
  • Assist in the coordination of strategies and materials necessary to recruit volunteers to provide mentoring for PREPARES Program participants.
  • Generate and organize program documentation electronically
  • Deliver monthly reports as well as other requested data to the PREPARES supervisor
  • Meet routinely with PREPARES program staff members and attend trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, driving, or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education

  • Preferred, but not required bachelors degree in human service or related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Associate degree Required

Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in social ministry, direct support to families and or experience in working with marginalized populations

Special Skills

  • Desire to make a difference and walk the journey with pregnant and parenting mothers, fathers, and families of all faiths who need support.
  • Capability to acquire and disseminate detailed knowledge of available services and support in the local community for pregnant and parenting women and families.
  • Ability to recruit, screen, train, support and evaluate PREPARES volunteers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, parishes and other service providers.
  • Willingness to have a flexible work schedule including weekends.
  • Understanding of diocesan structures including, parishes and parish organizations, as well as an understanding of and sensitivity to Catholic Social Teaching, as it relates to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Proficiency with standardized email applications and Microsoft Office Suite or other program specific software applications.
  • Effective public speaking skills, as needed in small group meetings and training settings.
  • Proficiently bi-lingual and bi-cultural
  • Written and verbal bi-lingual Spanish proficiency, required

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Valid Washington State drivers license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State

Employment is conditional upon:

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
