Job Description
Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), member of the Genesis Biotechnology Group (GBG), is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses.
MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
MDL is currently seeking a Specimen Resolution Assistant to join our Quality Control team in our corporate office in Hamilton, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the resolution of all specimen discrepancies (contact physicians, sales representatives, and patients to obtain information)
- Contact Sales staff for any accounts listed as ‘Do Not Contact’ to resolve discrepancies
- Create and/or edit discrepancy templates as needed
- Log, fax and monitor outgoing discrepancy notices
- Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls to physicians regarding patient discrepancies
- Answer any technical questions from patients, physicians, client services, or sales staff
- Assist with communicating with the laboratory to resolve specimen discrepancies
- Check test requisition forms and fixed discrepancies returned from the lab
- Forward resolved discrepancies to appropriate department
- Process test additions and cancellation requests
- Communicate any canceled tests or rejections to the Billing Dept
- Enter QC comments for appropriate patient results in system
- Assist in performing result inquiry searches submitted by the Administrative department
- Process requests by the ordering physician for specimens to be forwarded to another address or returned
- Aid with processing corrected report requests as submitted by the Administrative Manager or Billing Dept
- Attend QC departmental meetings
- Assist SRC Coordinator with other projects or tasks deemed necessary
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Prior health care and/or administrative experience preferred
