POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Trainer/Instructional Designer to join our team. This position is responsible for collaborating with our Sr. Trainer and Instructional Design Specialist to assess, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate all Member Contact Center curricula. The Trainer/ID will also be responsible for improving our team communication, including identifying areas for improvement in how we communicate with our teammates, and making changes to our training, resources, and processes to address those areas.

Fosters a culture within the department that reinforces member service, operational integrity, teamwork, and collaboration.

Models desired behavior and promotes optimal member engagement. Motivates staff, reinforces needs driven selling and referral activity for achievement of department and organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Facilitates a variety of training programs for MCC representatives, supervisors, managers, and others including operations skills, systems training, member service and employee development. Uses adult learning principles and advanced knowledge of group dynamics, along with strong facilitation skills to ensure a safe learning environment.

Evaluates participant performance and provides feedback to participant and his/her supervisor. Monitors performance to ensure the transfer of learning. Recommends additional performance solutions when appropriate.

Plans, assesses, organizes, develop and implements employee learning solutions designed to orient employees, improve job skills and develop capabilities to meet the MCC's strategic plans and the development needs of the organization. Instructional strategies may include stand up training, self-study programs, online or computer/video-based methods and job aids. Creates project plans to ensure all instructional design projects meet organizational timelines.

Design learning assessments and surveys to evaluate course effectiveness and learner application.

Review and edit MCC training resources posted to the internal Resource Center, including fact sheets, videos, and wikis

Work directly with the Sr. Trainer as well as other Internal departments to ensure any training materials developed use the most up-to-date policies and information in a way that is easy to understand and utilize while serving our members.

Provides project management services in the development and revision of new and existing curricula.

Uses a variety of software programs to develop eLearning modules, training decks, leader's guides, participant materials, job aids, on-the-job checklists, skill assessments, tests or assessments and other instructional materials.

Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles to propose cost effective learning solutions that are easily created and maintained, visually and instructionally compelling, and that enhance the learning experience.

Manages time and interruptions professionally and effectively to meet business deadlines.

Consistently provides a high level of service and is committed to increasing member satisfaction. Demonstrates adherence to Department Service Standards, Signature Experience Service Standards in addition to enforcement and modeling of our Mission Statement, Core Values and Team Attributes. Focuses on delivering Signature Experiences and achieving successful results in the Member Experience Surveys.

Assumes personal accountability for maintaining high service standards. Creates an environment that supports teamwork and collaboration within the department and across the organization.

Classroom training will be conducted in our Pasadena Headquarters or Administrative Offices in Anaheim.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design or two to five years' experience in designing, developing and modifying instructional/curriculum materials. Experience presenting and/or facilitating training courses. Experience in multimedia arts and applications (e.g. Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite).

Strong facilitation and instructional design skills for both the classroom and online learning. Ability to assess training needs and objectives. Advanced communication skills, both written and oral; presentation skills; ability to embrace change; detail oriented; creative; goal oriented; strong organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization and be a team player. Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives including training plans, curricula, and methodology. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of course authoring tools (e.g., Adobe, Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, etc.) and graphic design tools. Knowledge of animation and video editing software a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,

common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position may qualify as Remote or Hybrid with a home base at one of Wescom's offices. The Remote or Hybrid status may be discontinued by Wescom in its sole discretion at any time and for any reason or no reason, with or without notice by Wescom or Employee.
