About the Role
Canon USA in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist/Project Manager (Sr Specialist, Project). The Senior Technical Specialist/Project Manager possesses specialized knowledge or skills in a particular functional area. A fully qualified, seasoned profession with a full understanding of the job role who works on more complicated issues facing the department. Receives general instruction from manager on new assignments but little to no direction in day-to-day work. Typically reports to a Manager or Senior Manager, and may mentor or supervise one or two less experienced professional staff.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Your Impact
- Lead multiple cross-functional programs, in collaboration with product, software engineering, design, and analyst teams
- Provide coordination support to solution product owners, business analysts, engineers; tracking activities for internal teams and help eliminate blockers
- Able to identify gaps in solution features versus requirements and weigh in on product vs. technology tradeoffs
- Provide deep software/product domain expertise to form technical strategies with engineering partners
- Drive engagement with internal partners, work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with measurable milestones, effectively optimize scope and schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and proactively manage risks
- Craft clear communication of progress toward project/product goals, reporting status to stakeholders and leadership
- Track and manage multiple projects and scrum teams using Agile methodologies
- Oversee project onboarding and offboarding processes, develop and maintain project plans including scope, tasks, assignments, timeline, dependencies, and risks
- Manage deliverables, track due dates, formulate release plans and conduct quality assurance before the release of deliverables to the customer
- Use tools to monitor and approve timesheets & plans including SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel
- Actively take meeting minutes, organize action items, distribute meeting minutes to product/project teams and customers
- Possesses specialized knowledge or skills in a particular functional area
- A fully qualified, seasoned professional with a full understanding of the job role who works on more complicated issues facing the product/project
- Receives general instruction from manager on new assignments but little to no direction in day-to-day work

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree with a 5+ years of relevant experience with project management for medium and large teams
- Deep understanding and point of view on software/product growth and discovery solutions with proven experience creating partnerships with cross-functional teams, driving large-scale technical strategies, debating technical approaches, and building long-term scalable solutions
- Software development and/or software/product project management experience is required
- Fluent in Project Management tools - MS Office, JIRA, Confluence, SmartSheet, SharePoint and Teams
- Ability to effectively interface with customers, handle customer issues, manage meetings, etc.
- Ability to organize information and present project status and issues to leadership and diverse stakeholders
- Self-motivated; able to operate with minimal guidance. Interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, multi-tasking, organization skills and flexibility required
- Excellent collaboration and communication (verbal and writing) skills
- Agile process and product management background required

In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated base salary range for this role: $92,210 - $138,080
