The Metals Development Engineer Intern position will be located in our Research and Development Center in Whitehall, MI.

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join the Engineering Services Group at Howmet Engines Research Center in Whitehall, MI. The candidate will work as part of a team of Engineers and Scientists tasked with providing technical and Engineering support for all AEN production facilities globally.

Typical duties include:

• Support Metals R&D engineers with casting trials that support manufacturing facilities and customers
• Assist in improvement to material databases for modeling
• Support process modeling engineers with CAD modifications with NX or Solidworks software

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Ceramic Engineering) from an accredited institution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment
• Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus
