PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Production Technician assists with the operation of the Production department. The Production Technician
carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Individual job development, safety training,
customer billing, and accuracy of ALL reports generated to the customer in a timely manner; ensuring to adhere to all
company policies and procedures.
The Production Technician position is exposed to a very specialized field. Advancement is based on the
employee’s progress and their ability to comprehend the fundamentals of their department services. Evaluations are
conducted periodically to evaluate the employee’s progress. Production is a specialized field requiring technicians to take
time and exposure to master the wide variety of services we provide for our customers. Cross-Training of miscellaneous
field services and activities will be provided.
Keys Tasks:
• Daily reporting i.e., accuracy, thoroughness, and customer billing in a timely manner.
• Employee to learn & understand orientation, development, and training outline. Seek help from other employees
when needed.
• Assisting with rig-up and rig-down operations. Learning the various well configurations and rig-ups.
• Taking accurate readings and generating accurate reports.
• Learn the daily maintenance required on all test equipment.
• Work with your supervisor to stay on track with current Passport training, OXY Elk Hills Permit, Aera, and any
other safety certifications required.
• Learn Department Organization, keeping records up to date, and billing kept current.
• Assist with training and cross training of new employees. We all participate in training our people. • Learn how to operate the various types of equipment we have.
• Ensure the high quality of work the company provides to all our customers is maintained.
• Learn the mechanics of associated equipment you work with.
• Take notes and learn from the exposure of different types of wells we test.
• Technicians are exposed to a variety of producing wells: Flowing, pumping, gas-lift, Submersible pumps, plunger
lift, steamed cyclic wells, acid Flowback well, Nitrified acid stimulation, Co2 Fractures, are a few to mention.
Learn the characteristics of each well.
• Learn the different computer software programs we use. Learn and understand the spreadsheets we work with.
Seek help whenever needed.
• Learn the art of accuracy; it’s very important in our line of work to be extremely accurate in our reporting to the
customer. Check and double check your work to ensure there are no mistakes.
• Learn flow rates: how to calculate, and extrapolate into 24 hour rates.
• Learn the limits of the equipment you’re operating. Learn the uses of a two phase separator, three phase
separator, and four phase separator.
• Learn how to operate a choke manifold, and how to zero a choke. Learn the different applications for choke
manifolds. Learn how to service a choke manifold.
• Learn the proper method of doing laboratory procedures: Cuts, gravities, chlorides, Specific Gravity, Ph, and
resistivities.


Requirements:
• Complying with  company policies, rules and regulations.
• Complying with company safety policies, rules and regulations.
• Attending and participating in the weekly Monday morning safety meeting.
• Filling out Company JSA on the onset of any project. Work with your supervisor to stay on track with current
Passport training, OXY Elk Hills Permit, and any other safety certifications required.
• Arrive to work fit for duty physically and mentally, well rested and focused on the job task.
• MUST be able to lift, push, and pull 50lbs.
• DRIVE with no physical or DMV imposed restrictions or limitations.
• Work Schedule: working both days and night shifts are required as needed. This company operates  24/7.
Oilfield Service Company and I could be expected to be on call status during off time hours. A company phone is
issued and expected to answer it or return a call in a timely manner.
• Payroll Timekeeping records MUST be reported on time, including taking lunches and breaks as outlined in the
employee handbook.
• Notify the direct supervisor of any attendance issues prior to the start of shift.
• Requires its employees to work out of town from time to time based on our customer needs.


Job Type: Full-Time temp to hire 

Pay rate is BOE $17+ 

The most important piece to start is an aptitude in backing a small trailer, a clean driving record, oil experience, self-motivation if you  are a hard worker we can teach.
