Assist HR Director/Manager with daily functions of department to include recruitment, record maintenance, payroll processing, benefits, Open Enrollment, talent acquisition, interviewing job candidates, and communicate company policies, procedures, and practices. Flexible to evolving needs of the business and employee population. Periodically provide ancillary clerical and administrative support to other departments and management PRN. Organize and execute all associate event planning and Employee Wellness initiatives. Other duties assigned as business necessitates.

Required Education

Minimum of associate degree and/or some college coursework coupled with several years of OTJ work experience in HR or EHS. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, HRD, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, EHS, or Training is highly preferred, or a combination of education and work experience thereof.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years OTJ experience; 4 yrs. preferred. Prior HR experience and/or office administrative experience is required. Familiarity involving a variety of HRIS or payroll software applications. Experience with payroll processing through ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.

  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Ensures integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Conducts or acquires drug screen and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource+/EHS programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Maintain calendars of HR and other executive management team.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
  • Desire to learn about EHS and develop auditing skills in this area.
  • Exercises situation and task dependent limited autonomy and discretion under the guidance of HR Director/Manager.
  • Performs other departmental/organizational duties assigned from time to time.
  • Strong desire to work in the HR/EHS field, learn and progress career.
