Full or Part Time Dog Groomer

We are hiring both a full-time and a part-time dog groomer at our Pet Care facility in Idaho falls!

About the Job

Ameripet Hotel and Pet Center, premier doggy day care, boarding and grooming facility in Loveland, CO. We are looking for an energetic and reliable groomer who is dedicated to their work and takes pride in the quality of their work. The ideal groomer is someone who is customer obsessed (both dogs and humans) and works well independently but also in a team setting. The position is compensated by commission plus tips.

Primary Responsibilities

• Admit pets to be groomed noting owner's specific instructions, contact information and pick up time.
• Bathing, brushing, heavy lifting, shaving and scissor trimming.
• Ear cleaning, plucking, nail trimming, and expression of anal glands.
• Perform all general maintenance of grooming room; clean and disinfect cages, tubs, grooming tables daily; vacuum floor; mop floor; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors and brushes after use; perform monthly dryer and clipper maintenance.

· Other tasks as deemed necessary by the General Manager

Essential Skills

• Must have at least ONE year of current, professional grooming experience. Licensed.
• Ability to groom based on general breed standards and customer requests
• Photos of work required
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to remain calm under pressure and during stressful situations

· Able to work with a large variety of dog breeds with dogs up to 100+ lbs

· Able to interact with customers in a warm, friendly and professional manner

· Provides breed-specific standard grooms, and /or follow clients instructions so pets are groomed to specifications and satisfaction of the client.

· Great scissoring skills

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid driver's license

Availability

Par time position with the ability to go full time when the grooming business picks up. Can work a flexible schedule, but one Saturday a month is required, prefer every other Saturday.
