At Constructable, we build your ideas into reality. Constructable is based Houston, TX. We are looking to hire three travelling, fully remote Superintendents in the US.

About the Role: We are looking for candidates for multiple work sites to travel full-time.

As a Superintendent, you will manage our most valuable resources – our workers and customers. A Superintendent at Constructable manages site responsibilities and effectively lead the construction team(s) to ensure the project is completed within contractual time frame and budget. Additionally, this leader will manage the job site with the highest level of quality assurance and customer satisfaction possible. You will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities.

• Supervise a team of workers and/or subcontractors in work schedules, project progress and project completion.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Collaborate with multiple teams throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Understanding of website navigation and able to input project information using Computer/Tablet.
• Distribute three – week look ahead schedules.
• Proactively manage the operation to meet deadlines all the while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and quality standards
• Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
• Create and maintain a daily log of job site operations.
• Implement and enforce team techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.

What does a Construction Superintendent do at Constructable?
This leader will oversee work schedules, job site projects, monitor construction progress and maintain all necessary equipment and supplies. This professional will ensure construction workers are efficient, work meets regulations and jurisdictional requirements, and construction progress is in accordance with schedule and budget. Effective manager able to work with a diverse team of workers and effectively handle conflict with patience and respect.

Construction Superintendent skills and qualifications at Constructable:
Construction Superintendents use a variety of soft skills, technical abilities, and industry knowledge to effectively manage construction projects.

• Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, and listening.
• Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices
• Understanding of safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issue
• Good planning skills, design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
• In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations
• Great problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective leadership abilities including, motivation, goal setting and conflict management.
• Lifting and/or moving items of 50 pounds; more weight with a team lift
• Forward thinking and resource planning efficiency

Construction Superintendent education and experience requirements:
Construction Superintendent candidates qualify for this role with a high school diploma or GED and years of on-the-job experience and certifications. Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or another relevant discipline are encouraged. Candidates who have professional certifications, such as Certified Construction Manager or Certified Professional Constructor certificates are also encouraged.

• 15 years construction experience
• 5 years construction management experience
• Training in management
• Training in interpersonal communication
• Professional certificates and/or degrees (not required but a bonus)
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications
