Overview

Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Safe Haven Housing Program in accordance with Eagle Star Housing policies and procedures. Provides direct care services to residents in the Safe Haven Housing program, such as life skills and transitional support services.

Responsibilities
  1. Respects and maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates a positive and caring attitude toward all residents and staff.
  2. Performs the daily operations of the Transitional Housing program including the processing of intakes and referrals for admission into the house as identified in shift responsibilities list.
  3. Responsible for making sure the environment is safe and residents are adhering to house rules.
  4. Practices and promotes positive peer and resident relations.
  5. Coordinates and directs the daily resident care operations of the facility.
  6. Communicates with other care providers and referral sources to increase the understanding of residents problems and assets.
  7. Participates in and promotes quality improvement and maintains clear communications with the Transitional Housing Facilities Manager regarding house needs and incidents.
  8. Maintains a continuous physical presence within the house during working hours and responds to request for assistance. When out of office the phone must be taken when not in office.
  9. Identifies opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the house.
  10. Assists with implementation of polices and programs.
  11. Functions as member of an interdependent team member and effectively communicates with residents and visitors to resolve inquiries and responds in a timely manner to inform the Transitional Housing Facilities Manager of operational issues within area of responsibility.
  12. Identifies and promptly addresses unsafe practices and other safety issues in the house. Report incidents and vital information to the Residential Living Manager
  13. Participates in all fire safety, infection control and other mandatory training.
  14. Accepts responsibility for personal professional development and demonstrates desire for personal growth.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Valid New York State driver's license that meets qualifications set by agency's clean driver record policy is required. Must be at least Eighteen (18) years of age

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures and policies. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and residents.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and report to supervisor.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
