The Manufacturing Operations in Wilton Connecticut is responsible for the production of lithography tools as well as purchasing and logistics. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within Manufacturing.

As a Manufacturing CMM Production Engineer, you will take on a new role within Production Engineering! This position will help standardize CMM processes, hardware and software configurations in the Wilton Factory. The applicant will lead a group of Production Engineers in a CMM Competency Network, that develops CMM Best Practices (BP), drives improvement projects that reduce factory cycle time and increases product safety.

Roles and responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Production Engineers in a CMM Competency Network that drives knowledge sharing

Develop CMM programs for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects that meet high level assembly specifications

Optimize existing measurement programs to improve cycle time, accuracy, repeatability and measurement uncertainty

Responsible for creating manufacturing metrology requirements during product design reviews that ensure manufacturability in Wilton

Develop Best Practices that include but are not limited to software version control, etc. that are standardized among all module CMM

Identify latest CMM machines and metrology equipment and its application within the factory

Create and maintain CMM database that includes system locations, configurations and measurement applications for all Wilton Factory Assembly CMM

2nd Line of Support for CMM failures and owner of escalations that require vendor support

Establish preventative maintenance schedules to optimize CMM availability

Create Capital and Operational expense planning for spare part management, upgrades and new CMMs

Develop a catalog of historical failures that can be used to quickly resolve future failures

Support Production Engineering team with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies (Gage R&R)

Provide CMM training to team members

Project Responsibilities:

Acts as a recognized partner within Manufacturing and Design Engineering by enabling effective decisions making on all levels.

Initiates, participates or leads & implements metrology standards and best processes related to, for example, product generation process, effective decision making, reporting, change control, perform and guiding risk analysis sessions, and quality

Provide the technical leadership and engineering foundation to deliver high quality metrology methods that meet module-level mechanical specifications and cycle times.

Education and experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering, math or science degree or equivalent experience.

8+ years of experience with CMM Equipment

Mastery of PCDMIS Software including programming

Mastery of metrology, technical dawning reading and GD&T interpretation skills

1+ year of experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably in an engineering support capacity)

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both written and oral

Experience running various projects to completion in a leadership capacity

Genuine interest in metrology systems that can perform efficiently on the manufacturing floor

Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools (e.g. CAD modeling, PCDMIS, micrometers, gages, etc.)

Able to optimize measurement routines for reliability, manufacturability, product safety and cycle time.

Strong technical writing, communication and presentation skills with a capability for mentoring, coaching and negotiation

Personal skills:

This position is based in EUV Manufacturing Group within the manufacturing sector in Wilton, Connecticut. The engineer reports to an EUV Group Lead in Manufacturing and is operational within (multidisciplinary) projects.
