DEPARTMENT: Community Development Department, Engineering Division

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary May to August, up to 40 Hours Weekly, Days

STARTING HOURLY RANGE: $16.15 to $17.75 per hour DOQ, with paid holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs responsible technical duties within the City of Concord, Engineering Services Division, under the general supervision of the City Engineer. Examples of Duties

Duties are varied and include, but not limited to, the following:

• Drainage system assessment
• Road surface pavement condition survey
• Update GIS databases
• Perform necessary GIS data quality checks
• Computer aided drafting (CAD) operation
• Site plan interpretation
• Field data collection using a Trimble GPS unit

Typical Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college level Civil Engineering, Planning, Geography or related field.
• Must have successfully completed one term of post secondary education.
• Knowledge of planning/survey/engineering/GIS principles and methods.
