Lead Facilities Services Technician - Custodial

The Peabody Essex Museum is one of the nation's most dynamic art museums encompasses and
operates over 500,000 square feet of gallery and public space, including 26,000 square feet of exhibition
galleries and 55,000 square feet of galleries devoted to collection installations and interpretation.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Lead Facilities Services Technician. Reporting to the Facilities Services Supervisor, this hands-on position performs work that includes operational supervision of both PEM Custodial staff and contracted cleaning staff, cleaning and beautification of the museum campus
and its properties, ordering and organization of supplies, facilitating the setup and breakdown of events
and functions during normal operating hours and evening hours as needed as well as other duties as assigned.

The Lead Facilities Services Technician works 40 hours per week, Saturday to Wednesday, with shifts running from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. In addition to working some overtime, the qualified candidate must be
available to work occasional after-hours museum-related events and programming, and respond to off-
hour emergencies as needed.

This position will operate in both independent and group working scenarios, including but not limited to
working with other Facilities department team members, such as members of our engineering, garden and grounds, and maintenance teams. Interdepartmental work will also be assigned as required. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interface with contractors and vendors and to escort or assist as needed, overseeing the safe and responsible conduct of those under their care.

The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency with various cleaning equipment, experience
with the safe and effective handling and storage of various cleaning products, and custodial experience
in a multi-building commercial environment. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Please include salary requirements with your application.
