Skillbridge Intern (Cyber Security Evaluation and Testing Operator)

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Must be an active duty U.S. Military service member
• Eligibility for starting would be within final 180 days of service

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS;

• Possess a minimum of eight years of related cybersecurity experience
• Familiarity with common OS environments, tools utilized by attackers, and offensive security analysis tools
• Knowledge of tactics, techniques, and procedures utilized by attackers, as well as cybersecurity defenses such as IPS/IDS, Firewalls, and SIEM.
• Experience with open-source research, data analysis, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Ruby)
• Operational understanding of TCP/IP and computer networking

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Specialize in testing using exploits and adversary tactics as a Penetration and Adversarial Tester (PAT)
• Apply expertise in offensive security analysis tools and tactics to support the respective missions of the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) and National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC)
• Engage with the Cyber Working Group (CyWG) to contribute insights and knowledge, enhancing the overall effectiveness of penetration testing and adversarial tactics
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the unique challenges and objectives of TRMC/NCR missions, tailoring testing approaches accordingly
• Participate in Mission-Based Cyber Range Assessments (MBCRAs) to contribute to the planning of cybersecurity test events, aligning with TRMC/NCR missions
• Leverage offensive security analysis skills to enhance the effectiveness of test planning, ensuring alignment with TRMC/NCR goals
• Contribute to Red Team activities, emulating potential adversary attacks to improve enterprise cybersecurity and align with TRMC/NCR missions
• Demonstrate the impacts of successful cyber-attacks, focusing on what works for defenders, particularly the Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP)
