Position Summary

Come help create BoujieMana, a brand-new restaurant located in central San Diego! Sitting amongst apartments and office buildings, we will serve both the public, and provide support to TCWGlobal by preparing meals (basic catering style) 3 times a week for 125+ employees. BoujieMana has it alla full bar, VIP room, indoor and outdoor seating, and a training/event center with a capacity of 120 people. There is abundant nighttime and weekend parking, and while space is limited during office hours, there is still plenty of street parking. The price point will be on the higher end with the restaurants commitment to utilizing quality ingredients and maintaining a curated menu for all three meals of the day.

We are searching for a diligentHost/Hostessto assist and support our entire staff at BoujieMana. The Host/Hostess is part of the Reception Team and manages the flow of guests dining or lounging at BoujieMana. This team is vitally important to our success, as you are the very first welcome and impression of BoujieMana. The hosts will assist management in facilitating the flow of service in the restaurant, while creating an impressionable atmosphere for guests and staff.

Life is toughwe want the team at BoujieMana to give customers a break so they may bask in the joy of a meal, and the gift of friendship. We are looking for an individual who loves what they do and can work well in a team. The owner will be somewhat hands-on but will not be present day-to-day. Instead, the owner is there to support, finance, and encourage the team to create a wonderful experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Primary:

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of BoujieMana
• Welcome guests to the venue
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Manage reservations
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitresss name
• Greet customers upon their departure
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)
• Answer incoming calls and address customers queries
• Assists wait staff as needed

Supplemental:

• Taking over the phone TO-GO Orders
• Handling of cash when needed
• Checking and restocking baths
• Cleaning Dirty Mirrors
• Cleaning Menus
• Whipping down tables when needed
• Sweeping the floor in the dining room

Tools & Technology:

• OpenTable
• Cash registers, POS terminals and software, and workstations
• Software - web-based applications, etc.

Qualifications & Skills

• Work experience as a Hostess/Greeter or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus
• Valid Food Handlers Card
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
• Experience in managing reservations.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good Physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
• A passion for customer service and working in the restaurant industry
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong verbal communication abilities
