United Health Services is seeking a Staff Nurse Speciality Care to join our WMC Emergency Department 02 department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

Staff Nurse Speciality Care / Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) on this Intensive Care unit protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RNis responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and Nursing Division policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
CPR within three months of hire
Basic Coronary coarse within three months of hire
ACLS within one year of hire
PALS within one year of hire

Preferred:

Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
Relevant skills certification (i.e.TNCC)

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
