The UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE – OPERATING ROOMS have multiple outstanding opportunities for SURGICAL TECHNOLOGISTS (Various Days/Shifts).

Our Surgical Technologists enjoy working in a state-of-the art environment, collaborating with a stable team of experienced colleagues, and receiving mentorship from distinguished clinicians/faculty at one of the nation’s top-ranked research institutions. The Surgical Technologist will prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures; obtain, assemble, and arrange sterile instruments and supplies used for surgical procedures; perform scrub role; and maintain patient safety throughout perioperative care. The person in this role will use effective communication skills to enhance teamwork and customer service; and be flexible and proactive to support an efficient and effective surgical environment.

Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.

PRIMARY SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
• Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
• Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room

WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT:
Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Physician.

WHAT WE OFFER:
Along with competitive pay and benefits, we offer the following shift differentials for our Surgical Technologist staff:
• Evening Shift: $1.75/hour
• Night Shift: $2.50/hour
• Weekends: $2.25/hour
