Position Description

This position will support Atlantic Union Bank's efforts in engaging with local communities, promoting financial education, and driving community development initiatives. The CRA Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in building relationships, raising awareness, and contributing to the organization's commitment to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Position Accountabilities

  1. Community Engagement:
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with local communities, internal and external stakeholders, and organizations.
  • Foster positive relationships by attending community events, meetings, and workshops to understand community needs and concerns.

2. Financial Education Initiatives:

  • Plan and deliver financial education workshops, seminars, and educational programs to empower community members with essential financial skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with local schools, nonprofits, and community centers to expand financial education efforts.

3. Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • Identify and establish partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to support community development initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively to create joint programs that align with CRA goals and benefit the community.

4. Communication and Advocacy:

  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community, advocating for the needs and interests of local residents.
  • Utilize various communication channels, including intranet to share information about CRA initiatives.

5. Data Collection and Reporting:

  • Collect and maintain data related to community outreach efforts and their impact on CRA program.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on outreach activities for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies

6. Event Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute community events, workshops, and activities that promote financial inclusion, homeownership, and community development.
  • Ensure that events are well-organized, engaging, and aligned with the organization's mission.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing, compliance, and community development, to ensure cohesive and effective outreach efforts.

This position will support the territory covering Raleigh, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Danville, and Winston-Salem

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to: CIT CRA Program Manager II

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, nonprofit engagement, or a related role.
  • Understanding of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and its importance in community development.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and engage effectively with diverse community members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Proficiency in using email and other communication tools for outreach.
  • Passion for community development and making a positive impact.

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
