Job Title: Delivery Driver (non-CDL)
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Florence, SC
FLSA Status: Full-time, hourly, Monday-Friday - 7AM-5PM, Saturday as-needed
Compensation: Base pay $14.64/hour, up to $20.13/hour including overtime and incentives
Summary/Objective:
Our drivers ensure that our customers' orders are always delivered cheerfully and arrive free of damage, ensuring the customers' complete satisfaction and positioning Live Oak Metal Works & Supply as their preferred supplier for metal roofing, siding, and accessories.
Responsibilities:
Recognizing that nothing is more important than the safety of our employees and promptly reporting any safety concerns
Always maintaining a great attitude, with an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction
Safely operating all material handling equipment and other equipment and tools as required - equipment includes, but is not limited to, a new 2023 Ford F350 delivery truck, a new custom-built 26-foot delivery trailer, and forklifts
Determining how to structure multi-stop shipments to facilitate drop sequence unloading and to ensure proper weight distribution and damage-free delivery for our customers
Loading material using a forklift or by hand and/or properly securing metal roofing, siding, trim, and accessories on deliver trailer for shipment to our customers, ensuring that every customer shipments is accurate, complete, and damage-free
Utilizing bar code scanner to record and reconcile loaded trailers versus customer orders to ensure a complete and accurate shipments
Utilizing our Mobile App for viewing assigned trips with address and delivery details, marking deliveries as complete, taking photos, uploading them to our business system, and collecting digital signatures from our customers verifying that the load was delivered complete and free of damage
Performing necessary equipment and tool inspections and preventative maintenance, including pre- and post- trip inspections of delivery truck and trailer, promptly reporting any issues to General Manager
At all times operating delivery vehicle and trailer safely and in compliance with all D.O.T. regulations and all federal, state, and local traffic laws
Always providing courteous and professional service to our customers, ensuring their complete satisfaction
Safely following all work instructions and completing all required quality checks to ensure our products are always provided to our customers safely, efficiently, as-ordered, defect-free, and damage free
Cleaning and resetting delivery truck at the end of each shift, including but not limited to, ensuring a good appearance is maintained, properly disposing of any trash, placing all items in the designated storage location, and restocking any supplies
Promptly reporting any accidents involving company equipment
Constantly seeking opportunities to improve safety, to improve efficiency, and to better serve our customers
Cross-training as directed, working at any required position as required
Safely completing all other tasks as required or assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications:

Must be at least 25 years old (insurance to drive company vehicles) and possess and maintain a safe and clean driving record
Must possess or be willing to obtain a current DOT medical card along with a valid driver's license
Prior experience operating a delivery truck is required
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Self-starter who is able to work independently
A willingness to learn and to safely do whatever it takes as we work together to launch our business
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to understand and carefully follow both written procedures and verbal instructions
Ability to read a tape measure, do basic mathematical calculations, and use a calculator
Ability to manage time efficiently to complete all necessary tasks in a timely manner
Comfortable using personal computer and business software applications
High school degree or GED
Physical Requirements:
Ability to routinely lift as much as 75 pounds, to sit and stand for long periods of time, and to bend, climb, reach, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary in order to perform job duties
Must have hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate heavy machinery, equipment, and tools
Although the work environment is primarily in a warehouse, employees must also have the ability to work while being exposed to outside weather conditions
Able to safely ascend different structures (stairs or step ladder, as examples)
