At ORCHID STEAKHOUSE, taste, flavor and elegance is key to offering guests an undoubtably excellent culinary experience. We are currently looking for a passionate, qualified and experienced fine dining chef to join the team!

Role: You’ll be working closely with the Owner/Head Chef to oversee all aspects of our kitchen, from menu development to ensuring all dishes are created to the high standards we are known for. We’re seeking candidates with experience in various roles in a professional kitchen who possess the ability to manage large teams effectively.

Duties: 

  • Prepare food items using various cooking methods. Observe and test food being cooked.

  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and supplies

  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and meets standards of quality

  • Fill in for Executive Chef as needed.

  • Deep knowledge of cooking methods, equipment, ingredients, and procedures

  • Formal culinary training is a plus!

  • Ability to problem-solve on the spot and give clear directions

Position responsibilities include:

  • Directs food preparation and collaborates with executive chef.
  • Helps in the design of food menu.
  • Produces high quality plates, including both design and taste.
  • Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
  • Ensures that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.
  • Keeps stations clean and complies with food safety standards.
  • Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
  • Prepares food properly.
  • Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment.
  • Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen.
