Residential HVAC Installer

Chas Roberts Air Conditioning and Plumbing is actively seeking hard-working HVAC Installers for the Phoenix area. As a family-owned and operated company with more than 75 years servicing Arizona homeowners, we are looking for HVAC Installers that are self-motivated and seeking an honest employer with possibilities of advancement in the field of HVAC.

This is a full-time position.

*Requirements for this position are as follows:*

Install air conditioning/heating systems in private residences utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout; mount compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools following blueprints or engineering specifications; fabricate, assemble and install ductwork.; install evaporator unit in chassis or in air duct system using hand tools; cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools; join tubing or pipe to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant; install expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power source; inject small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems, and add freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure. Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure efficient operation. Test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges; wraps pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.

* One year field related experience and/or training. EPA certified. Take and pass replacement installation examination.
* Ability to exert physical strength necessary to move objects weighing 80 plus pounds from one level to another
* Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and inclined surfaces
* Must be able to meet attendance requirements
* Ability to frequently work in tight confined spaces
* Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/plans
* Responsibilities include hang air handler, install flex and/or metal ductwork, run copper condensation & Freon lines
* Prior installation/construction experience preferred, but not required
* Clean 39-month driving record and valid driver license preferred
