Summary

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, supplemental insurance, disability, workers compensation, 5500 tax filings, 1094B and 1094C filings, ACA Reporting, life insurance, flexible spending plan and 401k plan). Assist in various other Human Resource responsibilities including but not limited to payroll. Provide excellent customer service and quality benefit plans. Serve as a liaison between employees and third party administrator. Resolve benefits related issues and ensure effective utilization of plans.

Essential Duties

  1. Performs customer service functions by answering employees requests and questions in a timely manner.
  2. Serves as a primary contact for third party administrators to benefit plans.
  3. Oversees maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records in accordance to benefit elections.
  4. Gathers employee data and oversees the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of payments.
  5. Provides monthly and quarterly review of plan.
  6. Organizes and facilitates Open Enrollments.
  7. Verifies and approves the weekly check runs submitted by the third party administrator.
  8. Resolves administrative problems with the third party administrator.
  9. Maintains Employee Benefits Handbook and Insurance Plan Documents.
  10. Approves payroll for all companies.
  11. Completes, reviews, and administers new employee benefits package.
  12. Provides accurate knowledge to all employees regarding all benefits offered by the company.
  13. Handles other bank related tasks (i.e. filing 945s, etc.).
  14. Responsible for reviewing and uploading a correct 401k file for all companies to the administrator of retirement plans in a timely manner.
  15. Is responsible for handling the off-boarding process of all terminated employees. Including but not limited to updating payroll records, employees files, COBRA processing, visiting with employee, etc.
  16. Facilitating, organizing, and updating all 5500 tax filings.
  17. FMLA administrator.
  18. Oversees and administers workers compensation plan. Prepares yearly workers compensation earnings report, handles all workers compensation claims, and prepares any mandatory filings with government or other required entities.
