Summary
Assist in the preparation and processing of various tax returns and help in completing tasks required in alcohol compliance.

Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
* Supports tax and compliance function by assisting in filing of tax returns or preparation of support for payments and sending them out on time and with the required documentation.
* Supports compliance with preparation and reconciliation of alcohol beverage reporting.
* Supports month end and year end close processes and ensures timely execution of responsibilities.
* Prepares tax related journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
* Supports internal and external audit processes. May have involvement in providing documentation and support of transactions.
* Prepares detailed account analyses and reports for management. Compares results to budget, as well as prior year results, and accounts for variances. Ensures accuracy and completeness through analytical review.
* Ensures compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal control, and tax accounting guidelines
* Responsible for the accounting, reporting, and control of fixed assets
* Assists in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
* Conducts or participates in alcohol beverage tax research.
* Works with external tax consultants, and internal and external audit teams to ensure that all requests are satisfied promptly and accurately, including ad hoc reports and assistance with understanding tax and accounting processes.
* Assist in getting business licenses and renewal of permits.
* Executes balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts for compliance with required business process.
* Responsible for the execution of one or more tasks related to accounting processes (fixed assets, sales tax, property tax, internal controls, etc.).
* Work with accounts payable to get payments coded to the correct GL account and processed timely.
* Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
* Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions and third party partners.
* Actively participates on or leads project teams to improve accounting processes and procedures.
* Recommends enhancements and documents the improvements as necessary.
* Maintains satisfactory attendance including timeliness.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
* Communicates with Manager and/or Director on work status and other issues that arise.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance plus 2 year of accounting experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificates plus 6 years of accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
* Ability to demonstrate intermediate skills and knowledge of MS Excel.


Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Economics plus 4 years of Accounting-related experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of Accounting-related experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
* Experience with SAP Accounting Software.
* Ability to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of MS Excel.
* Experience effectively communicating information and responding to questions from managers and other internal and external business partners.
* Experience solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Compensation

  1. Hiring Hourly Rate: $32.21 - $40.24
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
