This position can be remote but is preferred to be located in Philadelphia, PA. Relocation assistance is available for anyone willing to relocate to Philadelphia.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Five Below is seeking a Customs Trade & Compliance Specialist to join our growing Trade and Customs Team. This person will help ensure Five Below Inc.'s adherence to U.S. import compliance regulations and requirements. This position will work cross-functionally with the supply chain and merchandising teams, as well as Product Development, product suppliers, and Customs Brokers. The Specialist will assist with import-related documentation, product classification support, PGA applicability, FTA & GSP review, C-TPAT Program administration, and other risk elements such as ADD/CVD applicability.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Product review and determination of relevant import requirements with US Customs and Broder Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and IPR requirements.
  • Subject matter expert in designated product commodity departments, working closely with key buying and merchandising stakeholders.
  • Respond to daily inquiries from customs brokers, government agencies, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Support with research and provide strategic insights regarding Global Trade processes, policies, and regulations as it relates to assigned product areas.
  • Support compliance-related projects, as needed. (Compliance Manuals and work instructions, FTAs if applicable, Focused Assessments, PEA, CBP inquiries, etc.)
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement through supporting with initiatives associated with process management and automated solutions.
  • Support in preparation of Binding Ruling requests for submission to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Internal Database and Record maintenance for products, HTS, PGA, etc.
MINIMUM Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent experience and training directly related to the role's responsibilities
  • 3-5 years' experience in customs brokerage or importer environment.
  • Solid background with product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, including experience with PGAs and sets/kits. Ability to interpret and apply GRI(s).
  • Trade Programs (FTAs) and/or Generalized System of Preference qualification experience
  • Experience communicating and working with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and US Customs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in retail industry
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) software, Bamboo Rose, RMS Oracle
  • Foreign Trade Zone knowledge a plus
  • Experience navigating Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, and AD/CVD management
  • Strong ACE reporting and data analysis
SKILLS
  • Ability to change directions quickly and adapt to new situations
  • Excellent oral & written communication. Ability to effectively communicate trade related information to internal and external partners.
  • Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), especially advanced excel data analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions and execute with limited oversight
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
