Overview

Highly competent and skilled, the Marketplace Sales Representative works as a key member of the Marketplace Sales Team, driving revenue growth by identifying and qualifying sales leads, nurturing client relationships, and processing sales documents. This role involves a combination of customer service, consultative selling and relationship management. Applies a broad knowledge of the organization's services, products and marketing techniques to close sales and develop accounts. Occasional customer visits and trade show support.

Responsibilities
    Sales Prospecting: Conduct proactive outbound prospecting to follow-up on new leads through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels. This includes incoming quote requests, tradeshow leads and 3rd party leads, among others.
  • Consultative Selling: Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services, addressing client pain points and demonstrating how our solutions meet their business objectives.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage and maintain a sales pipeline, consistently updating CRM records, and tracking progress to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their evolving needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Quotation and Order Processing: Process customer RFQs, POs and Returns.
    • Provide exceptional customer service while performing routine sales processing functions.
    • Proficient in SAP and CRM, as well as other necessary sales tools.
  • Account Management: Manage "House Accounts" with intent to maintain and grow business relationship. Responsible for monthly revenue tracking and forecasting.
    • Develop and execute Account specific strategies including visits, specific marketing efforts, individual touch campaigns, and other selling strategies.
  • Reporting: Review reports to track Marketplace Sales trends.
    • Work with Marketplace leadership and Analytics teams to update reports as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure a cohesive and positive customer experience.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Basic optics knowledge/optics industry experience preferred.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency (green card) required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree, business, engineering, physics, mathematics, or hard science; formal training in sales, negotiations, and management highly desirable; minimum of two (2) to five (5) years experience in technical and/or business-to-business sales management.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; ability to travel; work in office setting.
