Job Details

MUST-HAVE SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or higher level degree) required
  • Must have a P.E. License
  • Bridge design experience required
  • Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Civil 3D, and/or Finite Element Analysis Software

NICE-TO-HAVES:
  • Marine Construction experience is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generate drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, encompassing the following:
  • Comprehensive heavy lift plans (addressing site logistics, equipment selection, feasibility studies, custom rigging and lifting device design, hoisting and jacking systems, custom tool development, and crane pad/working surface design)
  • Formulation of erection procedures or planned sequences related to construction or demolition operations
  • Assessment of existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning
  • Structural analysis to ensure stability during the temporary state of new bridges, viaducts, buildings, tunnels, and other structures (e.g., construction staging, design of temporary falsework systems, and rebar cage hoisting and support)
  • Design and support of excavation systems or cofferdams for subgrade construction
  • Temporary bridges, trestles, work platforms, fall protection systems, formwork, and other components relevant to our construction operations
  • Execute or review calculations and design drawings in adherence to industry codes, standards, client-specific design criteria, and structural principles.
  • Uphold the quality and precision of the design deliverables.
  • Contribute to the identification of design-related risks and participate in risk mitigation planning.
  • Provide support to Project Management and Estimators in aspects like budgets, schedules, quality control, and coordination/communication with clients.
  • Assume additional responsibilities, including on-site design engineering support for projects, on-site inspections, and the training and mentoring of E.I.T.’s (Engineers in Training), among other tasks.
