About this job

Virginia, 23 years old, currently lives with her family in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She recently graduated with the degree of Logistics Management and communicates in both Spanish and English. Virginia started her career at a Call Center in Honduras when she was only 18 years old. Nearly 4 years ago, Virginia finally made the decision to pursue work in the logistics industry. Some of Virginia’s interests include cooking, going to the gym and bonding with her loved ones and pet bunny. Last August 12, we had the opportunity to further understand Virginia’s work experiences and how she thinks working as a Logistics Coordinator at PrimeTime made a positive impact on her. Read on to learn more about her story! THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER I started in a local Call Center in Honduras that was also headquartered in the United States. I was a Quality Insurance Analyst. My tasks had something to do with resolving clients’ issues, contacting customer support and other representatives just to check if they were following our procedures. I spent 2-3 years in that company. While working, I was also studying Logistics Management and I wanted a job that was related to my degree. I found myself working for a logistics company. They hired me even without previous relevant experiences, this lasted for 4 years. Eventually I was offered a Driver Manager role where I took charge of supervising loads. After 1 month, I became an Accounts Success Manager, handling 90 to 100 loads per week. As an ambitious person, I sought better opportunities after completing my studies. I applied for a Canadian college to earn another diploma. With this in mind, I didn’t want to go without a job so I also started searching for remote openings. I wanted to stay in the logistics industry, but I thought “whatever comes will come.” Luckily, I discovered PrimeTime Global Logistics. TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH I was searching for any remote jobs on LinkedIn until I found PrimeTime’s job board. Even if they were looking for applicants based in the Philippines, I decided to take a shot because I know I wouldn’t lose anything. I applied for the Logistics Coordinator position. I remember Rob contacting me. My interviews with him and Chris went well. I really thought I wouldn’t get the offer but then I recall an email popping up on my phone and I was really happy about it. ROLE INSIGHTS: LOGISTICS COORDINATOR What I mostly do is manage loads, coordinate with truck drivers on freight movement, quoting and rating lanes and building relationships with carriers. I see it in a two-way perspective. You need to be on good terms with both your customers and carriers; PrimeTime’s services value this partnership. Aiming for customer satisfaction through our competitive rates and dedicated trucks is something that we do here. For tracking, I extend help only if their team is quite overwhelmed. Nonetheless, for billing, invoicing and quoting, I try to do these tasks everyday. REMOTE BUT NEVER DISCONNECTED I felt the difference working in PrimeTime than any regular company because of how I am being treated. It’s not like I was treated terribly before but this company, our bosses– Rob, Chris and Jon– they don’t just leave us alone. They care about us and check if we need any help. They are open to different opinions and suggestions. Having leaders and not just bosses is something difficult to find nowadays. Even if we’re also operating on a remote job where we don’t see each other’s faces, I love how we’re still effectively communicating. I don’t feel distant around our co-workers because I know how they are, how they’re feeling and we get to crack a few jokes here and there. THE IMPORTANT QUESTION: HAS WORKING FOR PRIMETIME CHANGED YOUR LIFE? Yes, working for PrimeTime has changed my life. About the Canadian college, which I’ve already mentioned to Rob, Chris and Jon, going there is expensive. I don’t have the right to work in Canada so having this remote job will surely help me a lot, from covering my expenses to focusing on my studies. It’s just hard being a full-time student without any source of income so I’m really glad to feel the support of all my co-workers and bosses here. PRIMETIME GRATITUDE CORNER To the person who’s been with me since my very first day, Kath, she’s amazing. I love working with her and she’s always there to answer any inquiry or issue I may have. We got each other’s backs. She’s just so considerate especially when explaining a couple of logistics terms. I would also give another shout-out to Chris. I handle most of his accounts and I want to say that he is the most patient boss I’ve ever seen. Even though he has a lot to do, he sets time to check on customers and how I’m doing. MESSAGE TO THE APPLICANT Go for it. You’re not just working for the company but you’re also part of the family. Yes, you will always be busy but the greatest thing here is you won’t notice how time goes by really fast. This will not be a decision you’ll regret later on. In fact, you will love it here as early as your first day at work like my co-workers, Micsel and Flor. #J-18808-Ljbffr
