KS Chafee Independent Living Youth Advisor

Pathway Family Services, LLC. provides resources for youth and families through their Independent Living Program, TRAIL (Teens Reaching Adult Independent Living), Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP), outpatient services and specialized foster care services.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field and at least 25 years of age is required based on state requirement of being at least 3 years older than the oldest resident. Prefer individual with at least two years’ experience working with adolescents.

Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

As an Independent Living Youth Advisor, you will assist young people in transition to self-sufficiency through development of leadership and life skills.  Coordinate Regional Youth Advisory Councils (RYAC) and Kansas Youth Advisory Council services (KYAC) and activities as well as collaboration with Department for Children and Families (DCF), Child Welfare Case Manager Provider’s (CWCMP), Kansas Department of Corrections –Juvenile Services (KDOC – JS) and tribes and other community agencies.

· Coordinate monthly regional RYAC meetings.

· Plan and coordinate quarterly RYAC retreats

· Works closely with current RYAC members to plan and coordinate yearly KYAC conference.

· Works to maintain and recruit members for RYAC/KYAC

· Advise RYAC and KYAC to set realistic goals, work to meet establish goals, and offer opportunities for developing life skills and leadership.

· Facilitate the preparation of youth to participate as alumni and officers for KYAC.

· Ensure RYAC/KYAC members participate in events, projects and trainings held by other entries, including but not limited to the annual Governor’s Conference, Court Improvement Projects, national and state conferences.

· Will assist with training as requested by DCF.

· Will maintain the KYAC Facebook page and other social media resources as co-administrator in accordance with policies.

· Compiles monthly statistical data, prepares reports and forwards to appropriate agencies.
