Cook Children’s Health Care System (CCHSC) in Fort Worth, Texas, has a dynamic opportunity for a full time board eligible/board certified Pediatric Palliative Care physician with experience in caring for children with complex, chronic and serious medical conditions and their families. The successful candidate will join a growing, high functioning interdisciplinary team which includes four physicians, five nurse practitioners, nurses and clinical therapists who work in close collaboration with spiritual care and child life teams.  We are a consultative service within a large pediatric healthcare system, including a 477-bed tertiary care pediatric hospital with an average daily inpatient census of 20-30 patients. We also regularly see patients for new consults or follow-up visits on an outpatient basis in our own in-person clinic or via our virtual home-based telemedicine program. The team sees patients of all ages and all stages of disease. We follow patients with a diverse variety of medical conditions. Many of our patients are receiving concurrent care - integrating Palliative Care with curative, disease modifying, and life prolonging treatments.

Good communication and collaboration skills, flexibility, and the desire to co-create and develop a growing Palliative Care program as part of an interdisciplinary team are desired qualities. Qualifications: Candidates must be board certified in pediatrics and BE/BC in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and eligible to secure an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
