Responsibilities
The Quality Control Technician will:
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Assist in performing routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures, unit weights, specific gravity and picking deleterious; additional testing as required)
- Enter data into the aggregate quality reporting system
- Keep accurate records and data
- Calibrate lab equipment
- Perform routine housekeeping of lab
- Plot data on control charts
- Attend training and work toward identified certifications
- Perform special projects, studies and other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Aggregate, asphalt or concrete certification, a plus
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook)
- Basic math skills
- Basic knowledge of statistics
- Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles
- Ability to tolerate noise, temperature and environmental variations and working at elevated heights
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
- Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
