Position Summary

Leads a team of sales management and executives in building relationships with customer groups by determining their needs and exceeding their expectations in order to grow new and existing account portfolios. Develops strategies to maximize team performance, build and sustain customer relationships and increase market share. Responsible for the day-to-day management of people and processes necessary to support the regional sales organization

 

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand the market, the customer and the competition. Provide strong leadership, working by example to drive individual team members and the team as a whole to exceed key expectations through strategic planning and the development and management of the sales team.
  • Provide strategic direction and set priorities for regional sales teams to develop profitable business plans for managing both existing and newly acquired accounts and to effectively implement and execute those plans.
  • Develop strategies to maximize team performance to drive sales and increase market share to consistently attain and exceed reasonable but aggressive sales results within the region.
  • Ensure each account executive is equipped and driven to fulfill clients’ present and future needs through consultative solution selling. Direct sales team’s focus to identify and uncover opportunities
  • Assist team in resolving problems associated with customer service, product availability, price, product and service delivery.
  • Motivate sales team to give their best efforts by goal setting, coaching and communicating performance expectations, offering recognition and holding people accountable for results. Accurately assess the strengths and weaknesses of associates and give timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain company values and demand the highest standards of conduct and integrity from self and others.
  • Participate in local and national trade associations and conferences and internal cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Generally, 8+ years of experience selling to accounts in the multi-family industry with at least 5 years of successful sales management experience and a consistent track record of exceeding sales expectations. Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. MBA helpful.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, have a history of being able to inspire a vision, empower and enable others and challenge business-as-usual thinking. Will “own” the business and assume personal responsibility and take action for the sales team as well as professionally represent Criterion Brock.
  • Outstanding communication skills and presence with business maturity to work within and contribute to an expanding organization. Will foster an environment of open communication and display ability to apply information from many points of view to create a driven and engaged team.
  • Will have depth of experience in conflict resolution, coaching and development, and fostering a team environment and a history of successful performance management achievement.
  • High level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex and or cross department problems; able to make prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex or contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
  • Proven ability to operate with considerable latitude in situations that may have little or no precedent and which require original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from o others; able to reach sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Develop or engage/direct others in developing innovative solutions to important highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross department considerations are often present.
  • Computer savvy with experience using Salesforce or another CRM program.

 

Scope

  • Direct reports: 3-4 Account Managers
  • $15-20M sales revenue annually

 

Working Environment

  • Primarily sitting in office or vehicle with opportunity to move about as needed. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Combination office and vehicle travel in various climates
  • Able to accurately keyboard, drive, repeatedly enter/exit a vehicle throughout the day. Professional verbal and phone communication ability.
