About the Position:

The Cologix Strategic Customer Billing Manager will be responsible for overall understanding of utility billing for all customer in addition to end-to-end billing and collection process for Company's strategic customers. This position will need to have a basic knowledge of how utilities are billed back to customers and be able to calculate complex power rates per the written contracts, understand revenue accounting to identify any power leakage and partner with sales and customer care to ensure; a) ordering and billing timeliness, accuracy and completeness in accordance with company policies, systems and processes as well as customer requirements, b) a positive customer experience from a billing perspective, c) timely cash receipts and treatment of past due receivables, and d) accurate revenue recognition of strategic customer contracts. This position will also identify and implement process and system enhancements to improve utility management and monitoring of power to enhance power billing for the customer, process efficiencies, controls and aging of accounts receivable for the Company and in particular their strategic account portfolio.

What you do daily:

  • Partners with operations, legal, sales, IT and accounting to ensure all details of new contracts are captured and the ability to translate power billing from complex contracts to an accurate service in NetSuite that would be billed back to the customer.
  • Partners with sales, customer care, IT, accounting and customers to ensure sales opportunities flow through Company systems and processes accurately and completely.
  • Partners with sales, customer care, IT, accounting, operations, to ensure complete capture of power information at the data centers that flows through completely to customer billing. Monitors for leakage and works cross-functionally to ensure controls and process improvements are implemented and executed to ensure 100% power data flow through.
  • Monitor and understand peak power monitoring, working closely with sales and customer care so customers increase service, overall supporting the process.
  • Diverse background in self-diagnoses, research and question patterns of data that do not appear to be correct upon review.
  • Works effectively with customers to identify their billing requirements for new sales opportunities and enters orders in alignment with their requirements.
  • Ensures custom billing and commercial terms are entered accurately and completely on orders and reviews lease amortization schedules to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Processes monthly billing and performs first-bill reviews with customers to ensure their billing requirements are met and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Enters / interfaces bills into customer designated portals and works with customers to ensure purchase orders are in place and customers pay timely.
  • Develops effective partnering relationships with customers to understand their processes in order to ensure their purchase orders are in place, are reflected on bills correctly, and customer pays timely in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Responds to customer, and internal customer, questions, disputes, timely and effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree in areas most relevant to position, such as business management, finance and/or accounting.
  • Displays a sense of urgency and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Drives for results, ensures meets performance goals including timely, accurate and complete order entry, billing and revenue recognition, timely payments and high customer relationship scores.
  • Expert / Strong systems technical skills:
    • Netsuite
    • Excel
    • Tableau
    • Power Bi
    • Neo, Modeus or similar software
  • Expert knowledge of company end-to-end processes and systems relating to ordering, billing and revenue recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor, manage and improve processes to ensure completeness, timeliness, accuracy, efficiency.
  • Strong end user testing experience
  • 5+ years of analytical, utilities, power billing experience
  • Excellent customer service, partnering and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Builds strong relationships across organization, creates an environment in which people communicate honestly and openly, and information is readily shared.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and challenges.
  • Detail oriented with proven accuracy.
  • Global knowledge of business

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.

Salary Range
$70,000-$80,000 USD
