IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator in our Idaho Falls, ID office. As a Construction Administrator you will be responsible for performing site observations during construction and to provide information as requested to contractors. Keep the engineer informed of project status and aware of potential problems or liability issues.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Review project, scope of work, and budget for contracted services;
  • Meet with the Project Manager and design engineers to review expectations and role to be fulfilled by Construction Administrator on project assigned;
  • Responsible for preparing a work schedule and time projections assigned; as well as coordinating the schedule and work with Construction Supervisor and the design engineers;
  • Observe work through meetings and site visits to determine if progress and quality of workmanship are in accordance with the contract documents;
  • Review contract documents with contractors, clarify and interpret contract documents and obtain information from design engineers as required. Issue reports regarding deficiencies in the project;
  • Provide our services and input to Contractor in a timely manner;
  • Listen to clients and consider the Contractor's suggestions and recommendations, evaluate them, and submit them to the design engineer for a final decision;
  • Collect data and review change orders with the design engineer and prepare project close out documents when needed;
  • Confer with Architect concerning areas of construction coordination issues between architectural and engineering design. Coordinate with design engineer, record and document events and circumstances;
  • When prime consultant, receive and log samples and shop drawings required to be furnished, record approval or other action;
  • Observe the Contractor's record drawings at intervals appropriate to the stage of construction to ensure that installed conditions are being recorded daily;
  • Review applications for payment submitted by the Contractor and forward to Project Manager with recommendation for disposition;
  • Review final punch list and return to the Contractor for correction. Check off items prior to project close out. Prepare project closeout documents;
  • Assist Client with final observation of the work and receive necessary documentation from Contractor at the completion of the work;
  • Attend construction progress meetings as required in the service contract and report proceedings.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Must be familiar with design processes in mechanical, electrical, structural, and technology disciplines;
  • Ability to acquire a TWIC card within 90 days of employment;
  • Become MSHA trained within 30 days of employment;
  • Ability to travel up to 25%;
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans and drawings.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Science) in Engineering preferred;
  • A minimum of 5 years of qualifying experience.
