General Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Superintendent leads the construction process and maximizes the teams' potential to safely deliver a successful project. An ambassador of the Manhattan brand who ensures clients, users and the local community are proud of and satisfied with the development of our projects. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop the project plan and ensure its implementation reflects the contract
  • Assist the Project Management team in assigning project roles, responsibilities and reporting relationships
  • Lead the risk management philosophy for the project and ensure this is cascaded to all project levels
  • Managed the construction risks
  • Assist with implementation and interpretation of company safety programs
  • Deliver a quality project that meets the clients agreed specification to time and budget.
  • Ensure the appropriate project reporting is completed within the agreed timeframe and provide clear direction to the project team
  • Collaborate and participate in project pursuit and procurement efforts
  • Prepare and/or review all Bid Schedules and General Conditions estimates
  • Attend project meetings and walk projects on a regular basis
  • Attend Project Status Reports
  • Manage and develop all Operations resources
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Track record of working on large construction projects
  • Experience with risk management and claim resolution
  • Broad understanding of industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • 15 years of industry experience
