Job Summary: Performs on-site or in-house installation, servicing and/or repair of equipment. This
job may include any aspect of field support and installation including troubleshooting and repair
of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications,
programming; documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Installation of electrical components of transportation systems, including the
following:
▪ Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
▪ Traffic signals
▪ Roadway Lighting Systems
• Install electrical and data conductor.
• Install conduit and pull boxes.
• Install poles and foundations.
• Install component and system grounding and surge protection.
• Responsible for training and providing technical support to less experienced
electricians.
• Acts in a supervisory role when needed.
• Responds to corrective maintenance requests within contract time frame.
• Restores equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
• Completes reports, logs and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance
with established policies, procedures and local practices.
• Work with technical team on advanced and intermittent technical issues.
• Field test of units or components.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or
combination of training and work experience.
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Journeyman Electrician Certification/Card or better required.
• IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
organization.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a, CDL Class A or B
license.

Other Requirements:
• Travel will be required.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends or overtime as required.
• Required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and
arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to walk and climb or balance.
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to
100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and moving
traffic.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and
risk of electrical shock.
• Comfortable with confined space work.
