Modern is a growing FBO management company founded in 2018 with 16 FBO locations in North America and Puerto Rico. Modern is growing by acquiring and developing additional FBO locations with a long-term goal of becoming the third largest FBO network in the region. MAAS represents buyers and sellers of general aviation jet and turboprop aircraft in purchase and sale transactions.

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Aircraft Sales position will report to the Executive VP Aircraft Sales and shall be responsible for developing new clients interested in the purchase or sale of general aviation jets and turboprop aircraft. Key duties shall include but not be limited to the following:

Essential Functions

  • Use existing connections to develop new clients and generate leads through cold calling, emailing and marketing. The Aircraft Sales will be an intuitive reader of the market with the ability to accurately analyze market trends and forecast sales potential;
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, pricing, and delivery schedules, and ensure adherence to all quality standards, contractual specifications and regulatory compliance, as applicable;
  • Ability to analyze relative aircraft values in the market place and understand how that correlates to affect price when buying or selling a general aviation aircraft;
  • Become an expert in the aircraft features, benefits, characteristics, missions, etc. of targeted aircraft types and how these compare to aircraft that compete with it to position yourself as a proficient salesperson representing Modern Aviation;
  • Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets;
  • Accurately forecast future sales and adapt sales plans as required to accommodate shifts in the marketplace;
  • Creatively approach and execute a self-sufficient lead generation strategy;
  • Promote and re-enforce positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and industry peers to achieve best exposure in the market;
  • Become proficient with the company CRM database and continually update current owner/operator information;
  • Direct the preparation of regular sales pipeline reports and communicate them to appropriate personnel at Modern Aviation;
  • Attend and participate in senior external/internal customer and/or company and/or industry sales meetings or marketing events; and
  • Additional duties as directed by the Executive VP Aircraft Sales from time to time.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in aircraft sales or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of general aviation aircraft models, features and attributes.
  • Strong sales skills.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products.
  • Aptitude in supervising and developing staff.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Consistently demonstrates good organizational and leadership skills.
  • Customer relations skills required.

Reports to: EVP, Aircraft Sales

Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA Status: This position is exempt.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

Travel: This position may require occasional travel to other Modern Aviation locations.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends.
